PokerNews Launches Team ChipMeUp

February 10, 2009

Almost as long as there have been poker games and poker players, there have been people who want to get in on their action. Buying a piece of a player is very common – as well as popular – and happens all the time, whether it is a major tournament like the WSOP or just a big cash game, it is common for poker players to sell pieces of their action. For many players this is the only way they can afford a big buy-in; for the buyers, it is a way to cash in on a major win without playing themselves or risking a lot of money.

Have you ever wished you knew how to buy a stake in a professional player’s action? Well now you do, because PokerNews has recently announced the official kick off of Team ChipMeUp.

Headed by poker’s original bad boy, Tong G, team ChipMeUp will be touring the globe playing in some of the biggest tournaments being held. Joining Tony G on this amazing team will be friends Jason Gray, Ryan Nathan, Tino Lechich and Billy The Croc. And with the kick off of this awesome team, comes your chance to be a part of it all and have a piece of their action!

But don’t think this new venture is just for the pros, because every poker player on the planet can join and offer a slice of their action to anyone who wants to buy-in. How does it all work? First, players have to sign-up and create a profile, which is all free. After players have an account, they can then buy shares of other players or offer a piece of their own action for sale. Plus, to make the selling/buying experience easier, ChipMeUp provides not only the players profile but all the particulars like:

•    A Complete list of players that have a piece of their action for sale.
•    Watch list of global events the players will be competing in.
•    The players complete stats.

Then, to make your decisions even easier, there is a forum where investing, strategy and other topics can be discussed with other investors and sellers.

The whole idea of ChipMeUp is not only very innovative, but extremely easy to use. After an account is created, all you do is browse the upcoming tournament events, see who is playing in them, then pick the percentage you wish to buy of your chosen player and transfer the funds to complete your “purchase.” ChipMeUp charges no extra fees for buying a percentage of a player but does charge a small listing fee to those who are selling shares of themselves.

Recently Martin Klaser became a member of the ChipMeUp community and is now selling shares of his tournament action. With his fame as a Full Tilt pro and his 2008 WSOP bracelet win, Martin has proven he is worth investing in and plans to enter as many events as he can this year. This and the fact that ChipMeUp joined in with the Asian Poker Tour’s Pack that resulted in six pros selling shares of themselves in the 2009 Aussie Millions event, proves how popular the ChipMeUp formula is. To check it out and sign-up, visit ChipMeUp and get your own piece of the action!
