WPT Five Diamond Satellites Begin
October 13, 2010
Two major online poker sites are now running qualifiers for The World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas this December.
PartyPoker satellites begin Monday Oct. 18 offering players the chance to win a $14,000 package including the $10,300 buy-in, $2,000 spending money and a room at the Bellagio.
The site will run a main $700+$50 qualifier at 2:15 ET every Sunday beginning Oct. 24, giving away one package for every 20 players.
“The WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Classic at Bellagio is among the most famous stops on the World Poker Tour,” said a PartyPoker spokesperson.
“If you look at the previous winners of this world famous tournament it reads like a who’s who of poker. Nobody has won the event on a freeroll before, but this year it is possible through PartyPoker.com’s qualifying structure.”
In the meantime, UB.net is gearing up to send one player to Vegas to be part of the event, scheduled to play Dec. 3-8.
The site is hosting a series of daily freerolls through Nov. 28, culminating with a Main Event freeroll that will award a $12,000 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic prize package.
The top 100 players in each of the first two qualifying rounds move on to the Main Event freeroll where the package is up for grabs.
UB ran a similar promotion foir this week’s WPT Festa al Lago event at Bellagio.
ROBODOT bested a field of 695 players to win the seat.
“I love the site and the service, and I’ve had an excellent experience playing on UB,” he said. “I plan on playing even more tourneys now with the money I won. I followed my plan and it paid off. Thank you very much to UB.”
Last year, Daniel Alaei won the WPT Five Diamond title and $1.4 million after defeating a final table that included Scotty Nguyen, Josh Arieh and Shawn Buchanan.
