$32 Million in Bad Beat Jackpots Paid Out by CEREUS Poker Network
February 6, 2009
One of the largest poker networks, Cereus, is home to popular poker sites Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker. Not only are these two poker sites brimming with players who gather for some great poker action, but they also swarm to the bad beat jackpot tables to try to win a share of the huge jackpots up for grabs. Proving that even a losing hand can win big, on January 31st a milestone was reached when over $32 Million dollars in Bad Beat Jackpots had been awarded to 15,002 players between the two poker sites. This is the total paid out since the Cereus Poker Network rolled out the popular Bad Beat Jackpot tables in 2007. The $32 Million mark was hit when Absolute Poker player HIPLO got his four nines cracked in Texas Hold’em and won a whopping $132,888.80.
According to the Cereus Poker Network, the totals for the Bad Beat Jackpots are:
15,002 – The number of players who have won money at the Bad Beat Jackpot tables.
$325,212.40 – The largest jackpot won by a single player.
$7,957,915.23 – The amount paid out to all seated players when a jackpot was hit.
$8,272,211.92 – Total won by players who won the hand as well as a portion of the jackpot.
$16,435,623.88 – The amount won by players who had the losing hand which qualified them to win the jackpot.
$1,605,573.30 – Total awarded in 2009 for Bad Beat Jackpots.
$32,665,751.03 – Grand total paid out since 2007 on both poker sites combined.
With numbers like these, anyone can see why Bad Beat Jackpot tables are so popular with players. What could be better than to walk away with a huge cash windfall just by losing a hand? The concept is simple, with the play at a Bad Beat Jackpot table being the same as it is at any other Texas Hold’em table. The difference is that if you get a great hand of four 8’s or better beat, you still win by pocketing the lion’s share of the Bad Beat Jackpot! That is the big draw for players because a losing hand can turn to gold real fast. Plus, just by being seated and dealt in at a table where the Jackpot is hit, you also win a share. The Bad Beat Jackpots grow fast because they start at a certain minimum amount and swell as $0.50 is collected from every hand to add to the Jackpot coffers.
Aside from the Bad Beat Jackpots, players have come to appreciate the new improvements that have been made since Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker joined the Cereus Poker Network. After over a year of hard work to develop a superior poker software platform, Cereus debuted on November 25, 2008. Since that time, players have come to realize that poker sites on the Cereus Network are dedicated to offering players more security, stable connections, the most up to date poker technology and excellent 24/7 support.
